today to the information regarding the arrest of a man who led a sex trafficking organization.


The President of the Ricky Martin Foundation, reacted
today to the information disseminated in the media regarding the arrest of a man who led
an organization of sex trafficking with minors in Puerto Rico.

"The case reported yesterday on my island confirms the existence of a crime that knows
no boundaries. As an institution, we are confident that justice will be done and our fight
to eradicate the second most lucrative crime in the world will continue, " Martin said in a
press release.

Since 2004, the Ricky Martin Foundation has been advocating on behalf of children’s
rights with their principal project "People for Children". In 2010, Ricky Martin
Foundation published "Trafficking in Persons in Puerto Rico: An Invisible Challenge,"
the first study on this unscrupulous crime in partnership with the University of Puerto
Rico (Rio Piedras Campus) and the University of Johns Hopkins (Protection Project).
The Foundation recognizes that the collaboration amongst agencies conducted the
authorities to make this arrest, as well as the cooperation of a citizen.
